Formerly known as the Bartlett Soccer Complex, the Jovita Idar’s “El Progreso Park” was renamed in late 2020 to honor the Mexican American activist, Jovita Idar. This large park boasts a myriad of activities that the family can enjoy. There is a long, paved walking trail, soccer fields, a dog park, playgrounds, and more. The park has all of the needed facilities for guests convenience, with the added bonus of being near the Bartlett Pool.
The park is also home to the Krizia L. Keiser Memorial, to commermorate the life of the young Laredo native who lost her life to an annuerysm. A beautiful garden was built as part of the memorial, which overlooks the park’s pond. For more information about the garden, follow their Instagram account or Facebook page.
