This small, but mighty city, has a lot to offer, but it is not easy to find out about all of the kid-friendly entertainment available in the city. Our local businesses, schools, and the City of Laredo itself, do not always have the resources to best communicate all of the things that are happening around town. Most of the time we have to browse multiple sites, social media accounts, or keep up with our media outlets to know about all that the city has to offer. It becomes a task in itself to find parks and recreation centers that off what we need, businesses that can provide the services our kids are interested in, and events that we can mark on our calendars to attend as a family.\u00a0<\/p>

Fun In Laredo was built as a result of this. We needed centralized resource where we could locate all of the fun things avialable for our kids in Laredo, but we needed it to be extremely user friendly and have powerful filtering capabilities to find the right<\/em> fun things.\u00a0By creating this directory, we take care of the most time-consuming part of the process for you–collecting and categorizing all of the fun things–so that you can quickly and easily plan a day full of activities for your kids. Hi, I’m Marlene, and I am the creator of this incredible online resource!\u00a0I was born and raised in the wonderful city of Laredo\u2014a city known for its tight-knit, family-oriented community, and rich Hispanic culture.<\/p>

I recently moved back to Laredo, having lived in San Antonio for a few years while I pursued new opportunities to grow in my professional career in IT. Living in other big cities has its perks, like the excess availability of attractions and events, but Laredo offers other intangible and invaluable perks that are unique to this city. I knew then that I needed to establish my own family\u2019s roots in Laredo, so they too could be raised surrounded by the incredibly kind people of Laredo.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Coming back home I found it difficult to locate all of the ways I could keep my kids entertained. Don\u2019t be fooled, though, while Laredo is a small city, it is not short of kid-friendly events and activities, it simply lacked visibility to all the entertainment.\u00a0I found that events were promoted through individual social media pages or other outlets that are not easily accessible, and most of the time I only found out about them through word-of-mouth\u2014and often too late.<\/p>

Having a passion for design, experience through my career in web technologies, and this need to entertain my family, I came up with the idea to build a centralized repository of all events, activities, recreation, and local businesses who offer services for our kids. I figured the rest of my community faced a similar dilemma, so investing my time to build this website would be well worth it.
